Red flags for feeding difficulties:
selective eating
gagging frequently (sometimes vomiting)
moving slowly (or not at all) through texture continuum
(e.g. difficulty moving beyond purees)
spitting out food as soon as it goes into mouth
not moving food around in mouth to chew
decreased food variety
texture aversions
avoids touching and/or tasting foods
limited food inventory (less than 20 preferred foods)
occasional fussiness
frequently eats a different set of foods than family at mealtimes
will avoid a previously preferred food (“jagged” foods) and then reintroduce it after 2 weeks

We value a holistic and child-centered therapy approach, while also educating and empowering you and other caregivers to implement the strategies at home and outside of therapy.
